Inside Sales Representative (London, Ontario)

Location: London, Ontario

We are currently looking for an experienced Inside Sales Representative to join Desco and be part of our dynamic team in London, Ontario.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Branch Manager and in direct liaison with the Regional Sales and Quotations Managers and departments, this role’s focus is a combination of serving our customers through project maintenance and generating new and repeat sales.

Project related tasks include being responsible for the pricing and technical information on day-to-day project inquiries. Time during the day will also be dedicated to participating in the preparation, distribution and follow-up of projects, shop drawings, material take-offs and maintenance manuals, as well as the preparation of job releases. The role will assist in pricing specialty products when required.

Coordination and follow up is essential in managing customer orders, performing small project quotations and coordinating larger quotations with the quotations team. Customer service excellence, professionalism and attentiveness is critical in dealing with our customers and suppliers.

The role will also assist when needed with branch administration, counter sales support and annual physical inventory.

What You Offer

  • Minimum 2-3 years technical/sales experience in plumbing and in a quotes/inside sales role
  • Must have knowledge in PVF and commercial fixtures
  • Post-secondary education in Plumbing or equivalent experience
  • Computer literate; MS Outlook, Word and Excel skills

Counter Sales Representative (Etobicoke, Ontario)

We are currently looking for an experienced Counter Sales Representative to join Desco and be part of our dynamic team in Etobicoke, Ontario.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Customer Service Supervisor, this role’s focus is to generate new and repeat sales by providing customer service excellence at the counter and presenting a professional and attentive image to customers and suppliers. The role will also provide back-up to the warehouse as required.

  • Serves customers by phone or in-person ensuring the customer’s order is entered accurately into the system.
  • Answer pricing enquiries and stock checks. Provide technical information and product specifications.
  • Enter web orders and accurately allocate it to the respective Branches for release.
  • Coordinate delivery arrangements with the customer and monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.
  • Create and maintain product displays that engages customers and helps stimulate sales activity, keeping merchandise and counter areas clean and professional.
  • Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications.
  • Communicate promotional sale items as well as discounted slow moving and obsolete inventory.
  • Proactive contact with customers to ensure ongoing satisfaction and remain current on consumer preferences, changes in local codes and product developments.
  • Respond to web enquiries (prices, stock checks) within 2 hours of request.
  • Perform various branch administration; billing; vendor returns, etc.

Admin & IT Assistant (Etobicoke, Ontario)

Location: Etobicoke, Ontario

We are currently looking for an experienced Admin & IT Assistant to join Desco and be part of our dynamic team in Etobicoke, Ontario.

The Opportunity

Admin & IT Assistant

The 2 main functions of the role are to assist the A/P Team with vendor reconciliations, cheque processing, mailroom duties, filing, reception relief, etc. and to provide assistance to the IT Technician with ongoing hardware and software support for both mainframe and desktop units.

Accounts Payable / Administration

Work closely with both Senior AP Clerk and AP Clerk to provide support to various Accounts Payable and Administration functions.

  • Vendor statement balancing.
  • Assist Accounts Payable Clerk with processing of invoices, and support the function in the absence of the Clerk.
  • Processing and mailing of cheques.
  • Mailroom and courier responsibilities. Distribution of incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Filing of processed invoices.
  • Provide reception relief as needed.
  • Various projects assigned by the Controller.

IT Support

Work closely with IT Technician to assist with the month-end process, and assist with resolving ongoing technical issues.

  • Assist in resolving user technical issues and service desk tickets.
  • Assist with the setup of new computers, thin clients, printers, etc.
  • Computer / Windows / MS Office support to users.
  • Purchasing IT supplies such as photocopy paper, order forms, printer ribbons and toners.
  • Assist IT Technician with month-end processing, and ensure follow-up and resolution of issues in the absence of the Technician.
  • Creation of User accounts for new employees.
  • The position may require the occasional after hours or week-end support as necessary.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma. Completion of IT courses would be an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in technical / system support.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of applications systems and computing devices.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of AS400, J D Edward or Mincron, PKMS and RF guns would be an asset.
  • Customer service oriented, including end-user support experience.
  • Excellent analytical, research and problem resolution skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational time management skills. Must be able to prioritize.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Person will participate in our warehouse operations and activities. You will verify and stock material in inventory, prepare and pack orders, receive incoming material, assist with shipping and loading of vehicles, housekeeping, bin location and maintenance. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction.

  • Receive and process warehouse stock products.
  • Loads company vehicles/trucks when all material is ready for delivery. Ensures all material is securely loaded for safe transport.
  • Ensure that inventory is stored and protected from damage and readily available for shipment.
  • Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
  • Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment.
  • Assist in annual physical inventory counts.

Showroom Sales Consultant (Etobicoke, Ontario)

Location: Etobicoke, Ontario

We are currently looking for that self-starter, customer focused talent to join Desco and be part of our dynamic team in Etobicoke, Ontario.

The Opportunity

As a first point of contact in the showroom, you will provide excellent customer service by greeting and serving the customers with respect to the sale of luxury showroom products. You will be responsible for the complete sales cycle with a goal to achieve targeted sales and margins. This position is also designed to incorporate outside sales and marketing of The Water Closet brand. The role reports to the Showroom Supervisor and is required to work on Saturdays.

  • Determining the needs of the client, provide product selection assistance - influence buying choices and suggest add-ons - in order to complete the sale.
  • Prepares quote for customer and follows-up within 24 hours to successfully proceed with an order. Complete the order and follow up with the customer on availability of product, method of payment and pick-up/delivery of product.
  • Recruit new sales accounts through Desco’s outside sales program and develop sales accounts focused on The Water Closet’s Interior Design clientele.
  • Establish close connections with customers focusing on the quality and quantity of customer relationships with a goal to grow existing account’s sales and margins.
  • Initiates telemarketing calls and showroom tours to industry professionals and new customers such as builders, designers etc. in conjunction with showroom program outlines.
  • Participates as required with sales, manufacturer reps and customer service department in developing new programs, display specifics, and new product promotions.
  • Participate in Home and Trade shows, after-hour events, industry events, training sessions and meetings, including outside of normal work hours.
  • Assist in organizing and hosting in-house events.
  • Keep up-to-date on product knowledge and industry trends.

What you offer
